"Hi Melanie,

Firstly, I apologise for taking so long to get this to you, I had every intention of sending you a card, but I haven't had a moment to myself since we last met.

Though I still have no idea as to what happened in my head, It would seem that my sceptisism was completely pointless, because here I am saying a big thank you, and never in my life have I meant it more sincerely!

Although my back-to-normalness has meant clearing out a lot of skeletons. Talking to you in my sessions has really made a difference in my life. A new found enthusiasm for my DJing has emerged and for the first time ever, my Girlfriend and I are getting along very well.

Hopefully, we will never see each other again. But I hope you continue to enjoy every success with your practice. (With a massive world wide financial crisis, you should be busy!!!!). I will also be recommending you to anyone who ever needs help.

Once again, Thank you for making me as normal as I could ever be.

Yours
Daniel Eastwood"

Pure Hypnoanalysis

"Hello Melanie

It is now five weeks since my last and final visit to you and I am feeling so much better and improving all of the time.

When I first came to see you, as you know,  I was in quite a state.  How I managed to get to see you on those first few visits I do not know but I am pleased that I did because if it was not for you I would not be feeling as well as I do now.

What a lovely feeling it is to walk out of the door and not give it a second thought.  All of my other symptoms seem to have vanished too.

So thank you Melanie, I really could not have done it without you."

Hypnotherapy for the Fear of Flying

"Melanie

Flying off on holiday with my family at Christmas, staying in a stunning resort and lapping up the sun, drinking champagne was all down to you. Having flown for years and having lost my nerve, I must say that although sceptical I did not want to miss out on this wonderful holiday. With your professional help & wonderfully relaxing techniques, not only did I fly again but I enjoyed it!

As someone that considers herself a very well rounded, sane individual, having an irrational fear of flying was becoming annoying and somewhat limiting. I also found the fear was jumping ship at times onto other areas of my life. So after reading an article about your skills, I rang to make an appointment. From the start you allayed any fears of the process I held, answered many questions and provided me with the confidence to venture on with hypnotherapy.

I now understand that by using your techniques you can quickly, over a few weeks, resolve your fears and move forward with your life. For me, this is magical. Helping me to get back to having fun, surely one of the most important aspects in life, I thank you."

Pure Hypnoanalysis for Panic Attacks

"Hi Melanie

Just three months ago, I approached you with the attached email.

I had been very unwell for a few weeks prior to contacting you and felt that each horrible sensation (panic attacks/globus hystericus/hypochondria) that I was feeling were all due to the fact that I was dying from a terminal illness! - it really felt that bad, I was so absorbed with all the symptoms I just couldn't concentrate anymore, I felt that I was going insane and I felt totally alone with my fears and that no-one could help.

I have had a few similar experiences throughout my thirties, but none as bad as this that I was experiencing in my forties! - I had seen the doctor on each separate occasion, I had been on antidepressants in the past and been to counsellors and had sessions of cognitive behaviour therapy, but of course none of these had helped and I felt like life wasn't worth living.

You very quickly responded to my email and I came to see you for an initial consultation at which I was put at complete ease, you were so kind and understanding, and you explained to me how the sessions would work and we agreed to start "treatment"

Looking back, I admit that I was very sceptical at first and as the weeks went on I still suffered quite a lot of the symptoms, but these were gradually reducing. I'm so glad I persevered - it most definitely paid off and I thank you Melanie for all your help. I felt at week 9 that the cork had finally popped, but you requested I make one final visit, and I did come along to this too, and how fantastic do I now feel!!!. I have been symptom free for 3 and a half weeks and firmly believe that I am finally cured.

My 'cure' is a permanent one. I am NOT 'more in control of my symptoms', I am NOT 'feeling a bit better', I am not 'more understanding' of my problems .... I have been CURED of them, they are gone and they will not come back!

This is because i have completely RESOLVED the unconscious conflicts that were causing my stress and anxiety, which were in turn causing my panic attacks and hypochondria.

I can now move on with the rest of my life, safe in the knowledge that this will NEVER happen to me again. I am so looking forward to Christmas, the best Christmas of my life, I've got my life back, and I can never thank you enough."

Stop Smoking Client

"Hi Melanie,

I came to you in October 2007 for a Smoking Cessation. I remember I was really anxious about whether it would "work" or not but I thought I would drop you an email to let you know it had!

I've now been smoke free for almost a year and a half and without a doubt it was down to the session we had that day. I had previously tried to quit twice but could never manage more than 24 hours at a time. I do believe I was "ready" to quit when we had our session but something must have struck a chord in me as I never thought I'd actually be able to do it.

I'm off to Australia in 7 weeks, a flight I would be dreading if I was a smoker but now it doesn't bother me. It's so liberating to not smoke and I love that every day smoking doesn't even enter my head.

Thank you so much"

DREAM Technique™ Client

"I found using the DREAM technique a major step forward from any other psychological technique that I had tried before. I was fortunate in the fact that I already knew I suffered from social phobia (the GP had diagnosed this many years before) and was very aware of the negative thoughts that often entered my mind (I learnt how to be more aware through CBT previously).

This turned out to be a great head start for the use of the DREAM technique because it is essential to have an awareness of yourself and your thoughts and be able to detect your negative thoughts before you are able to put the rest of the process into place.

The first most important factor of the technique that made it so refreshing for me, was the fact you were given permission to reward yourself for having had a negative thought, and not beat yourself up, which leaves you feeling angry and powerless. You are allowed to praise yourself for noticing, making you realise it is okay to have one in the first place and that you are rather clever having noticed! I also found the escape process helpful to break the pattern of brooding over problems and negative thoughts – it allows you to escape quite literally from the moment. I find amend-ing the negative thought a challenge but never impossible – there is always another alternative to what you’re thinking and if there isn’t, then it’s not worth thinking of at all! The final process, to magnify, visualise your ideal situation or outcome, was the hardest part for me, although I do enjoy visualisation as a tool to see something positive in the future.

Overall, it is a simple technique to learn and it’s not something you can learn without 1-1 support."
