We all have different eating habits. Some of us prefer to have our 3 meals a day, whereas others prefer to ‘snack’ regularly during the day.

We all emotionally eat. Whether we are bored, stressed, frustrated, tired, upset, angry, or just fed up, a lot of us turn to food to make ourselves feel a bit better for a short period of time. This is also known as comfort eating.

Our eating patterns can be influenced by the amount of stress or pressure we feel at the time. Some people may have cravings, such as chocolate or crisps, others may go off food completely, whereas some people may binge eat in order to find some comfort from whatever is bothering them at that moment. Most of the time, once that stressful time has passed, our eating habits return to normal.

It is only when you start to eat too much or too little over a long period of time that you may develop an eating disorder.
